But that being the case, should they not email the seller via eBay first and ask if any objection to an inspection, rather than buy it anyway and then ask???

In any case, see my posting above, if they have paid by paypal, in addition to the sum they will have already taken from your payment, it will probably be suspended anyway for up to 21 days, until the buyer decides he/she is happy with it :)
