I will probably be seen in a poor light here, but it seems to me to be the same with most things.

Quite a few years ago, we used to have a couple of trips out to the races from my local pub (blokes only) and they were a great success, no problems, plenty of booze, loads of laughs, great times, then, one year, it was suggested that wives and girlfriends should go........totally different day, awful atmosphere from the outset, bitchy comments, bad feeling.......culminating in a huge brawl later that evening.

I just think us blokes are simple creatures, basically :)
