I think this cheat is different from the McLaren stealing data from Ferrari a few years back which you refer.
F1 to me loses something with the exclusion of team orders, yet gains are hard to see.
Button and Hammy this year, were told to conserve fuel - Button after the race said he thought he'd already done enough conserving (clearly wanting a pop at Hammy for the win)- to me this was just a subtler version of the Ferrari Alonsfasterthanyou gate scandal.
I'd slap their wrists and demand the are more subtle next time like their rivals. After all ur average spectator would be fooled.
