As I always understood it - Bull fights were for 4 year and older Bulls. The recortadores were for younger Bulls, training them for the big fight when they are older, which attract the younger and holiday crowds. So obviously they dont kill the baby bull when they are training it nit wit other wise there would be no bull fighting.
Even the Spanish wouldn't just throw a Bull into a ring to kill it without any Prior training, that would be barbaric.
Now you made me go and read about it.. b*gger!!!!! ;-)
If in doubt ask Fern he's an expert too
