There have been plenty of incidents down through the years when team orders have played a role in the outcome of a race, or even a championship. Most of those cited by Tmoon were before the introduction of a rule explicitly banning them. Maybe other teams have covert ways of getting around this rule that we don't know about but as Donald Rumsfeld would put it, they are 'unknown unknowns'. The fact is that on Sunday afternoon, Ferrari deliberately and OVERTLY broke the rule that outlaws team orders. The most astounding thing is that they were fined for doing it. This meant that Ferrari's rule breaking actions to alter the result of a race were not in any way remedied by the officials. In other words, for the sum of $100K, Ferrari paid to overtly fix the race results.

Similar to Newshound, for the first time in my life I got up out of my chair in disgust on Sunday afternoon and turned the TV off during a Grand Prix.
