... North London today after a man, 50, was shot today? I don't see them on the streets of that area protecting the public. What's that all about? Are they protecting the public, or more interested in protecting themselves?

DavyBoy is right, Police with guns is not a recipe for safety of the public. They have a rocky track record at best.
