Why my father went from 'foreign orphan' (Canadian) to owning a chain of garages.... who (in CHRIST'S name) do you think 'gave' HIM the 'leg up'? Where is that DIFFERENT from today???
I was MUCH luckier than Dad, having a family to guide me who already RAN businesses.... but they DID NOT lend me any money..... rightly!
I would argue that the MAIN difference between the 'Working Class' (errr..... more correctly termed: 'LOWER' class..... if the others are called 'Middle' and 'Upper') and the Middle Class is the Middle Classes GET to be Middle Class BECAUSE the have ASPIRATIONS to 'better' themselves! If YOU are 'working class' but ASPIRE to have/learn/improve/give-your-kids=-more-than-YOU-had then YOU ARE MIDDLECLASS!
There is PLENTY to which ANY OF US can 'aspire'! The bit that's often missing are:-
1) LUCK..... you need to have an opportunity open in front of you.....
2) You need to have the ability to SEE that it's an opportunity
2) BUT.... you then have to have the GUTS to GRAB that opportunity
3) Finally.... you need the DETERMINATION to MAKE IT!!!!!!!

Ohhhh...... and which of us has EVER met someone who is NOT 'working class'? I have yet to meet ANYONE who isn't WORKING..... (oh.... except a few wives of rich blokes..... and the unemployed)
