I do hope this succeeds and that an 'it pays to work' model becomes a reality. I'd have been quite a bit more draconian in my approach to the problem ! I do respect IDS here though. He's made it his life's mission to correct this debacle and has spent a lot more time than anyone else in politics with the people directly affected.

Another thing though. In order to stimulate economic growth that will generate work for people, the government should consider giving tax breaks to companies that employ a new member of staff and better incentives for people to set up their own businesses.
