personally i prefer a site i can update myself with little input from the designer as they can and do loose initeres and bu**er off leaving you with a site that is then useless.

using a professional however is a different matter but much more expensive

in terms of design,the more specific you are,the better it is all round.once an initial rough design has been submitted then thats where your input is needed.if you dont give a good breif then dont expect a site you are happy with
