My mother had heart problems recently and she was dealt with very quickly, you can't compare the NHS or schools with state they were in in the late eighties.
My daughters school is fantastic, and my youngest has pre-school to go to.
Like it or not the Thatcher "i'm alright jack" society....the one that Andrew Marr obviously isn't too keen on (I watched his excellent series) is a Tory creation. Along with an de regulated financial sector that they created and the by now pay later ethos for everyone.....all came from thatcher years. The last Govt should have kept the financial monster the Tories created in check, that's where they went wrong.

That said to say that wanting good schools and hospitals means the countries finances will eventually collapse is no argument.
