I am confused. R Brawn and MS have both said the original problem was lack of front end grip...understeer... caused by poor weight distribution. The solution for Spain as a longer wheelbase but they did it by moving the front axle line forwards. Fine.. the got a longer wheelbase , but unless my understanding of mechanics is wrong, by moving the front wheels away from the C of G they would be reducing the weight on the front wheels even more ?? If they had chosen to gain wheelbase by moving the rear axle line back,( not easy) then they definitely would have increased the loading on the front wheels and maybe got a different result. I note that they are changing back to the original short wheelbase configuration for Monaco...a circuit where you definitely do not want excess understeer ! Do you think they own a set of scales ???
