It's clear to many of us. However, so is the potential distater (for us Conservatives) of creating a Con/Lib (or ConDem, as my wife prefers to call it) pact.

The ideal solution for me would be for the Libs and Labs to form the minority government (they CANNOT make a majority from all the rag-tag bunch of other parties) which is too weak to get the PR bil through.

I know that Labour MPs are not exactly THE most inteliigent people on the planet but even THEY realise that the spread of MPs in the next election would change under PR. By the figures of the last election (and they would change, of course!) that would give the Libs about 149 MPs. Some of those WOULD be at the loss of Tory MPs BUT..... a HELL of a lot WOULD come from the loss of Labout MPs too! Let's be kind and say that 80 would come from the Tories..... but THAT would still mean the loss of a further 70 seats to Labour... That's a good sized block of Lab MPs who will NOT vote with the nextg Govt. for PR..... not even THOSE Turkeys will voite from Christmas!

But, of course, it doesn't stop there. Under the presewnt systemn, the BNP seem to be getting about 5% of the Vote.... that would give THEM 30MPs..... and a fair number of THEM would come from LABOUR seats.... the 'Barking Battle' was between Griffin and the LABOUR party.... not the Tories!

On that basis.... PR doesn't just eliminte a future Tory Govt.... it eliminates ALL Government! No single party will EVER get a majority again!

The Libs are using their PATHETICALLY SMALL NUMBERS to FORCE the maority of the country into something that IT WANTS. No other method can GET their views and, even though they were THOROUGHLY DISCREDITED at the poles, they may JUST get their way.....

..... and that is a PERFECT example of what HAPPENS under a PR system..... the MICRO PARTIES wield power VASTLY above their number of votes!

This election has been, and will PROVE to be, a DISASTER for this country! Coming on-top-of a DISASTROUS 13 years of Labour Mis-rule (Oldies only will get that!).... we are in SERIOUS trouble..... it's looks like the time to abandon this sinking and stinking ship is approaching fast!
