That's not always true, Chad.

Hamilton and Alonso still seem to remember how to use 'Karting Wet Line' under extreme circumstances where others seem to have forgotten ALL that they learned from karts!

As QOT said, on older tracks, not only has the rubber been laid on the surface but all the high-friction 'points' and 'lumps' have been worn-smooth on the 'dry-line'. In those cases, our peculiar 'outer-line' can pay off MASSIVELY! It just needs the drivers to remember that effect, occasionally7!
