Also you can consider that the dry line is the one that usually allows you to carry the most speed - with F1 aerodynamics, the faster they go, the more grip comes from the aerodynamic loadings - so they may be better off on a more slippery surface but with the aero grip helping, than tip-toeing round a 'wet' line without the aero grip
