When Rich first mentiuoned it, I checked the figures with an online comparison web site ('go compare', I think) and came up with Ł3,500 to SIX THOUSAND for a 17 year old male driving a 1.1 Peugeot which was garaged. Oh.... and I selected the HIGHEST possible 'excess' which was Ł1,000.

I don't know if there are easy places to beat that but......

The costs of a provisional would be MUCH lower becasue of the moderating inflkuence of the 'older person'.

However, it's the PRINCIPLE that the problem, not the actual level of the quotation. My examplle works JUST as well at Ł1500 as it doies at Ł3,500.

However, your at Ł1,500.... it hardly seems that you can call the jump from your suggested Ł1,000 to the 'actual' figure of Ł1,500 as deserving the title 'persecution'! It's only a slight HIKE!

Whatever you do, you still get left with the 5 (or 1) out of ten driver being priced OUT of the market after his/their accidents and they disappear from the 'income stream' and that B*GG*ERS your idea, WHATEVER the annual premium!

Just FACE THE FACTS!
