I'm hoping someone can be of help here.

I have been working on an image of a vintage racing car today in order that i can make a painting from it and what id quite like to do is try and get a little bit of "provenance" into the imagage as it's completely made up.Maybe some of you older and wiser heads could help me out

For example,i know the head gear is wrong and that some sort of cloth cap(if any)should be worn but what exactly should it look like

Are there any of the stickers on that car that wouldnt have been there in itsheyday

I would als like to know if there were any particularly famous drivers who raced this car and if so it would be good to know what number they were and if there were any specific markings on the car etc.

Not much to ask i know but i'm sure this is right up some people's street!
