Im not so sure I agree with wet/damp races being more interesting. As a driver the wheel spin and slow speeds make it a little 'boring'. As a spectator, all the drivers are running at a slower speed, as a goggle box viewer its just different from the normal stuff.
I agree with your point tho - who would run a race at risk of such poor conditions - remember when they changed the date at the Silverstone gp, everyone got stuck in the late spring mud. Proof, if needed, there are total doughnuts everywhere!!! ;-)
