Alan [and Ian]... you'll be happy to know [if you already haven't] that 'traditional' desktops [PC and Mac] are both on their way out more rapidly now. Of course, they have actually been waving the long goodbye for the last 10 years. Thin Clients have emulated both PCs and Macs for some time but not enough people have bothered to take them up because 'users' want to covet their data ever since the God-forsaken fat client inflicted its obesity on us back in the late 1980s. I see a future of dumb terminals - yes back to the future, in a way, but only if you must resort to sitting in an office at a desk. For the rest of us it will be some form of PDA... ahem... something that looks like an iPhone/Hero etc... because life's more important than the office !
