OK … I can understand objection to mandatory subscription. If you simply do not wish to ‘consume’ anything – anything at all – that the BBC puts out, then it doesn’t look fair or reasonable. But: 1) Is the above statement genuinely true for you? You never, ever tune in to the BBC or use its website? 2) Does a broadcasting market under the total and absolute control of one Mr Murdoch really look that appealing to you; at the gods know what ridiculous monthly charge?
Be careful for what you wish. Let’s have some more explanation of ‘obscenity’ here. Scenario 2 is the obscenity in my book.
