Some of that is fair, Dave, but some isn't. I think you could similarly argue that the 'McLaren' team was not really a continuation of the team when Ron Dennis took over the team from Teddy Mayer. Likewise, will Peter Sauber's new points (if he gets any ) be awarded back to his orginal tally, pre-BMW?

As a VERY long term Lotus fanatic, it does seem strange but they are trying to stress the link between the old team and the new. Damn it, Lotus road cars threw away the proper Lotus Badge (ACBC in a 'triangle') for a short while until public demand reverssed THAT stupid decision. At least the new team uses the 'proper' logo.

However, I am far too biased by the 'Lotus' name to ever think the team did ANYTHING less than perfectly..... except the 30..... and the 40...... and the 80..... etc......

As to whether the new car will be quick.... but at least, it should be quicker than the 'video game' Virgin......
