Some weeks ago, someone mentioned being killed in a kart by having a scarf get wrapped around the axle. We discussed it here and I confirmed that it had NOT happened in karting but was Isadora Duncan many years ago in a car.

Staggeringly, it HAS now happened in karting! This is only DAYS after we discussed it! A young woman has died at an 'indoor karting' (arrive and drive , I believe) event in Cambridgeshire and I have been informed it was caused by such a 'scarf' accident!

The loss is extremely sad, especially due to the age and the fact that it involves karting. There will be no point in discussing it further until the Police and other 'organisations' have completed their reports; only then will we get the full details.

However, for god's SAKE, use common sense and do NOT wear anything loose on or near running kart! And don't even THINK about starting one with a rope!
