Yes it was our very first taste of karting, apart from indoor. Club champions 3 years running but it was a basic track, the rumour was the council wanted the track off the their land and used the excuse that the new M6 toll road was being built right across the track but if you look at google maps you'll see that it missed and the track could of stayed IMO anyway.

There were rumblings that the club were and probably still are looking for land and infact i heard as part of the deal to terminate the lease early the council would help them find some more land elsewhere but i could be wrong, so at the end of the day we lost a good little track, one with a bit of history too, wasn't it were Mansell first started karting?
