You can hardly blame a speed camera for the accidents that are probably the result of drivers not slowing down early enough and then jumping on the brakes when they are on top of the camera.

It's immaterial how much money the camera bring in.

It's the number of drivers that are flouting the limit that is the problem.

I hate cameras, but start with a sensible arguement and you may find Ian more ready to cross swords with you, rather than point out your grammar and punctuation, because THAT is the only relevant and interesting bit that I can see for him to pick up on.
