Confused, as usual, Kudos.

Many of us will be attending Remembrance Day events tomorrow. I will be there with my son and his girlfriend who are both currently serving in the Air Force. Like many others, they FULLY understand why we are in Afghanistan. It can be best covered in very simple terms, as follows:-

If we don't visit them.... they will be visting US!

However..... you quote:-

"the billions being spent to change another country could be spent here, protecting against an attack, not against the need for conflict". I assume that you'd want SOME of the money 'saved' to be spent on your wages......

So... if we (the alliance) pull out from Afghanistan, what will stop the Taliban returning and re-strengthening the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Pakistan? What will stop Pakistan's Nuclear weapons falling into the hands of the same people who thought the 11/9 event was a 'good thing'?

Tell us EXACTLY on what we can spend your 'saved billions' on in THIS country (as you suggest) which will stop delivery of such weapons, HERE!

**********

Many years ago, Chamberlain said the words "a little country, far away, of which we know so little" and those words lead to the most shameful moment in British history. Those words lead the planet into World War II. Would you now repeat those words about Afghanistan? Use the same words so we won't be confused into thinking you are NOT Neville Chamberlain.

We must remain there because we have no choice. Christ, I wish we HAD a choice!

************

Yes: 230 British Troops have died in Afghanistan.... not to save the 67 who died in the Twin Towers but to save THOUSANDS and possibly even MILLIONS who will die if the Taliban get what they want! They may even have died trying to save YOU, Kudos.

Ian
