You probably have 3 choices. Do as doink says and get a structural engineer, the work would involve putting probably 3 RSJs across the roof space from end to end to support the rafters, a fairly simple solution but not as cheap as it may seem. You could take the existing roof off and replace your 'finks' with attic trusses. You could move! Although the attic truss option sounds drastic, it could actually be a viable option since the truss companies do the calcs for free and if your roof is oldish or in need of attention then you've killed 2 birds with one stone.
