Exactly right, increased torque increases the heat and the standard clutch does not like the heat.

The standard chip is normally ok for a clutch in good condition but if you go for a proper remap (the best way) then you really need a cerametallic 4 paddle or something similar.

Forget about the BHP figures, they mean very little in a diesel, its the torque figure that counts - the VAG PD engine is king when it comes to producing torque from a 1.9 - 2.0 engine.

Remember to put proper oil in it, cheap stuff will kill it quickly, i think its called Quantum PD or something similar.
