Talk about bringing politics into it. If I didn't know better I'd say you're in the diplomatic corp or worse - something in the square mile with your own reserved underground parking bay!

Interesting idea to recalibrate the points although apart from those directly involved who else would benefit?

A few months ago I put it to a well known 'journo' that a ranking system a la the points based system in Golf and Tennis - might be interesting. And just like Golf and Tennis you have an end of season one-off to crown the overall champion.

As someone who did the one and only Champion of Champions or at least my son did!) only for it to die a death presumably because of lack of sponsorship (it was Renault by the way who backed the even back in 2005) - I think it would be interesting to see how things pan out. The S1 champion will always be the S1 champion and deserving of the highest accolade but I wonder who is the most consistent driver out there on a pro rata basis.
