Nothing in the rules prevents others from running KERS. Likewise, nothing (in hindsight) prevented others from running the double diffuser. All you've done is highlighted parts on the car that have given an advantage and sought to nullify that by mandating others use it. That, to me, sounds like a spec series. Where do you draw the line?

I can understand your argument regarding KERS (although I don't agree with it), but your comparison with the double diffuser is not valid. The double diffuser was simply a different design of the same part. Surely, in a manufacturers formula, differing designs are the name of the game?

If you think making F1 more 'spec' is the way to go for better racing, just look at F3. All bar a few are on the same chassis with one of two or three engines, yet the racing is still some of the most boring in the world (aside from inexperienced racers tripping over each other). Look at GP2. The grid is covered by 1.5s at Hungary; F1 was covered by 1.0s in Q1. The race times paint a similar picture. F1, at the moment, is about as close as any single seater series is going to get.
