Hi guys, I recently (sunday) changed insurance companys and conincidently I've had to tax my car at the same time. Now as the insurance company hasn't sent through my insurance docs yet, I asked them to send through a cover note or anything that I could use so that I could tax my car.

They replied that they couldn't as it would 'contravene the road traffic act. I've got an email sent to me saying when my policy should start, does anybody have any experience of post offices letting you buy car tax without the actual insurance certificate??
