Clearly everyone's thoughts are with Massa and what will hopefully be a quick and full recovery. As for the safety issues then how can you legistlate for 100% of permuations that may/may not happen on track.

Apart from surronding the chassis and cockpit with armour plated...

What happened at Brands was a tragic accident - a one in a trillion chance. The odds were less yesterday and to be honest I'm surprised something like that hasn't happened before (God forbid)when you think of some of the recent crashes and the speed at which they happen. If you're directly behind a guy and his car blows then you ain't going to have much chance of avoiding stuff.

Last comment is the BBC and Mr Edward Jordan!

The next time he gets 'information from a reliable source about the extent of a driver's injury...' then with the gift of hindsight Eddie, DON'T broadcast it on live TV. I don't always agree with DC but he was reserved personified yesterday saying 'let's wait and see' but poll old Jordan couldn't help blurting out he'd heard this and that. As I said, he wasn't to know the full extent of the injuries as probably no one did at the time but the fact he did decide to say something should at least make him think next time round!

Best wishes to Massa and here's to a good, clean and safe race later on
