keep your blade(valve) clean and lube with vacaline - never force anything. The blade cover is designed to close when pulling the cassette out - so I would guess its not fitted right. It should open towards you and reopen by itself when re installing the cassette to expose the blade.
Alway make sure your blade is shut before trying to remove the cassette.
