Errr.... that was NOT a 'paraphrase', that was a TOTAL denial and INSULT to what JFK said.... becasuse that is the REVERSE of what he said and the REVERSE of what he MEANT!

Not only that, your 'paraphase' was EXACTLY what he was WARNING us about!

Just in case you do NOT know what he said, here's the ACTUAL quotation and a reference so you can read it for yourself:-

"Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country!"

He was NOT a 'good' man in the way we judge politicians today... but he was RIGHT! He was a THATCHERITE on this matter!
