Let's also not forget the fact that Ferrari have had a long standing commitment to to Motorsport in general and F1 in particular, unlike other teams who have come and gone as and when they "could afford it" or their marketing strategies suited them! Mercedes, Renault, Ford, Lotus!

Yes, they are protecting their investment in the sport and F1' and who can blame them for it!

How many of the teams who are currently lobbying the FIA for a spending cap (or even worse, a two tier Formula) do you believe will still be running in 5 seasons time? Lola included?

It is expensive, it is elitist, but guess what: everyone wants a piece of it! And when they cannot get in they all start bashing Ferrari et. al.

But lets for a minute pretend it is 2010, the "NEW" regulations are in place, Ferrari lost the case and had to stick their tail between their red legs and run with massive technical handicap. So have some other teams. We now have 44 cars running two different specification cars on the grid.
It's the start of race 1: Melbourne. The lights go green and everyone steams off into the first corner, by the time the 44th car goes through the front-runners are already at turn 5 and by the end of lap 3 there's almost 1/2lap between 1st and last.
By the time of the 1st pit stop 1/3 of the field has been lapped by the front runners.

Have you ever watched a 24hr endurance race? Gripping stuff isn't it? Even on the highlights it is boring to watch! Well that's where we're heading!
And all because we wanted to turn F1 into an itpro style democracy, where every newcomer has a deciding vote on what rules should be implemented to coincide with their rooky year!
