Haven't you noticed that I have never said ANYTHING LIke 5 times safer and no-one (except you) has said that 14% of fatalities were CONTRIBUTED TO by exceeding the speed limit.

All I said was that if the figures WERE ANYWHERE NEAR correct that it was obvious that speeding drivers were less likely to have an accident than those that didn't. No mention of 5 times etc. And 14% (13% on latest figures) were speeding - not that it was necessarily anything to do with the accident - that is the "excess speed" statistic.

Ian doesn't get sensibly tired of this (or of anything)- he just realised he was on a hiding to nothing on this and didn't have a stastical leg to stand on.

Why don't you quit while you are behind - or actually do some research into the subject.
