you seem to forget that you lot are "good" drivers with much more "skill" than the average driver. i have quite a few friends who have just passed their test and others who have been driving for years and it would not be safe for them to be driving faster, they arn't really in control of the car at the speeds they are doing at the moment let alone if you were to increase the speed limit. the average driver is not a good driver and not good enough to handle a car at high speeds so increasing the speed limit will only make their crashes more severe adn fatalities will increase. a lot of these "average" drivers are young and inexperienced like myself and cannot afford good, safe cars so if they do crash they are highly likely to be badly injured or killed. i think speed limits are fine how they are, because you seem to forget that a lot of people out there are not good drivers.
