It's NOT what 'I think' that matters.... it's what I KNOW to be the truth!

Having access to Police budgets over the years I can TELL you, they have MASSIVELY reduced the 'Police-man-hours' on Speeding..... because they have 'de-skilled' the job to NON-police workers (cheaper labour)!

Not ONLY that, but they HAD reduced Expenditure on Police-spending on speeding to (effectively) ZERO and had started to make a PROFIT on it.... the difference between spending on cameras etc. and the income from the fines..... which meant that 'automated speed monitoring' actually gave them MORE money to spend on what YOU'D call 'proper policing'!!!!!!!

However.... when National government started to find out how much MORE the costs of processing non-payers of fines was REALLY costing them (expensive court time), they took the revenue from the cameras AWAY from the Police..... plus ore pressure from Y*O*U*R lobby there.... and now it is returning to being a SMALL financial drain on the Police....... but still VASTLY less than it WOULD have been had the Gatsos (etc.) NOT been installed becasue it can STILL be done by 'de-skilled' staff.
