Question & Answer Answered On

Q: Before I collect I would like to know is there anyone buried underneath the patio,? If there is, will I need to bring a vicar with me to re-bury? 19-Mar-09

A: Don't worry yourself my friend. This auction is for the patio slabs/concrete/bricks only. The body..erm, if there is one, is not...or will not, be your problem. That said, if you could bring a vicar anyway I could get the site exorsised...just in case. Cheers.

Q: My girlfriend always said she wanted to do 'Hardcore' in the bedroom, do you think this item will fit the bill if I pile some rocks in the corner of the room? I don't see the point myself... 19-Mar-09

A: Women are generally strange. A lot of them seem to like the nice oak flooring in the bedroom. Personally I think it dangerous and slippery when polished. A hardcore bedroom floor may be a little painful underfoot, plus the rafters may not be able to hold the weight. A small hardcore sculpture in the corner may be okay though. Thanks.

Q: Whats the access like to the garden? Can I drive my JCB into this garden? The JCB is a Backhoe Loader 2CX. Width just under 6 mtrs and weighting 5600 KG. Let me know please. 19-Mar-09

A: Hmmm...isn't that the 75bhp model with a very high torque rating, plus limited slip differentials front and rear, self adjusting 6000 hour fan belt and a seat with no less than seven different driving positions? Well, I'm afraid that my gate is only the standard 0.9/1m wide, so you may have trouble getting the 6m JCB through. You could, however, pay me an additional £900 for me to get a new fence once you are done? How does that sound? Thanks.

Q: I understand that collection is the preferred method of delivery, but could you tell me how much it would be to ship to Maputo, Mozambique? I have been after an authentic Stevenage patio for years and this is a dream come true, my mother will love it as part of her mothers day present. 19-Mar-09

A: Well, weight estimation is hard. About 44 bricks at 2.5Kg each (110Kg), plus around 21 slabs at 6Kg each (126Kg), plus around 100Kg of other shingles, totals around 336Kg. Using Parcel Force in a half metre container would be £3,673.69 (4-day tracked), or only £2,833.49 (5-day tracked). These figures are not definates as the size of the container I stated, along with weight, exceeded Parcel Force's capability. Thanks.

Q: Can you tell me the density of the patio paving your selling? 19-Mar-09

A: Hello. I'm unsure of what bits you actually require but, the bricks are typical and therefore should have a density of 1.84e-6 (1.84grams/cm3). The concrete parts should have a density of around 2.85e-6 (2.85grams/cm3), but I am unsure of their exact consistency. Many thanks.
