Firstly....good luck for next week...if my experience is anything to go by, you will need it! (2 weeks spent keeping legs bowed!) And you are wrong....I have 3 offspring, not 2....but 2 of them were 'accidents'! (yes, both 'the pill', and condoms have failure rates.)
Now, to your main point...its true that 'persuading' people to limit their families will be an uphill struggle, especially when attempted by people like me. That doesn't mean we shouldn't attempt it. After all, our record of preventing murder, drink driving, or financial fraud is not 100%, but is still effective. The reasons for keeping population under control are becoming more apparent. The reasons for stopping DD were not apparent initially, and many of those who helped to bring in the laws would have been guilty of the offence in earlier times.
As for 'false greens'....change will not happen overnight...as a race we resent being forced to alter our lifestyles. The only way is slow....gradual changes in social behaviour are constantly happening. If the pressure is kept up, it WILL happen. Those of us who have been 'recycling' for years, and who have limited our presence in the 'consumer society' are simply setting todays example...tomorrows example may be set by our kids....and yours.
