You missed the final part of your point.... I'll do it for you....

If we DO reduce our dependency of fossil fuels then we get a large NUMBER of OTHER HUGE GAINS:-

1) Oil WILL run out! Long before that, there will be yet ANOTHER huge rise in prices. Peropsnally, I expect that within 5 years. If we have REDUCED our dependency on oil, we will be in a BETTER position to with stand it. If we DON'T.... we're ****ed!

2) If we reduce our depency on oil, we will NOT be 'beholden' to the Arab states, or, even more worryingly, RUSSIA. If we doin't NEED so much of their oil, they cam't THREATEN us!

3) If we develop the TOOLS and manufacturing skills in low carbon technology, we will have a product even MORE valuable than Microsoft whne the need for the technology becomes WORLD WIDE!

4) Etc.

So.... even IF I AM WRONG about GW and we are even entering an ICE AGE (don't make me LAUGH!)..... we WIN in the short, medium AND LONG terms.

It's a no-brainer..... except for those of you with EXCEEDINGLY small brains..... e.g., Singers..... and the REST of you.....
