Is there a shortage of jobs in engineering design? I keep seeing a lot of jobs advertised in the IMechE magazine I get every other week. Or are there less advertised than a few years ago?

I'm graduating in Engineering this year and was amazed to see how many different engineering opportunities there are in the UK (I hadn't looked before as I had a job lined up at Leyland Trucks but they made me redundant before I even started, lol).
