- Thats a closing speed of 70mph!!! Thats so dangerous it's unreal. If you can't see that danger then you're either thick or completely irresponsible.

- I assume you meant to say wider, otherwise you'd be arguing against yourself. I would actually agree with the statement that the tunnel gets narrower as you go faster, but I doubt you were actually trying to say that.

- It’s been proven by you??? That’s rather worrying isn’t it, that you’re admitting you don’t pay as much attention as you should. You should always be totally vigilant of everything around you car no matter what speed you go at. If you aren't aware of everything around your car at lower speeds you are a bad driver and should not be on the road. Full stop.

Think about it logically, say an accident has happened 40 metres ahead.
CarA travels at 40metres per second (approx 90mph) and has exactly 1 second to react, brake and avoid the accident. CarB travels at 30 metres per second (approx 70mph) has 1.33 seconds to react and brake. Not only does this give it an extra 0.33seconds, it is already travelling at a slower speed, so it effectively has already done 20mph worth of braking.

They both may hit the accident, but who would be worse off? And who would cause fewer injuries to the people already involved in the accident? There is an obvious answer to this, surely?
