The problem is if you take your eye off any of them something will come back to bite you in the a**e.
N.Ireland has been a problem for years which ,now forget all your bleeding hearts sob stories here,is unlikely to be resolved unless a FINANCIAL settlement could be found which is beneficial to the UK Govt. There is Billions invested in NI and the Govt won't just hand it over.
PLEASE DO NOT come back with comments such as ,the Protestants want to be British etc; it's rot. My own experiences on the streets during "the Troubles" showed that half the "Loyalists" hated us just as much as PIRA.
I feel this forum is not the right place to discuss the Politics of Ireland involved over Hundreds of years, you can't just discuss the last 100 years, lets be honest, some people wouldn't know who Michael Collins was let alone the events of the Easter uprising or what happened at the Guinness brewery or the distillery.
As far as forget Iraq and Afghanistan,NO, the worst thing we could do is forget them, however our involvement should be limited and troop withdrawal should be high on the agenda. We only have to look at how OUR POLICE in OUR country protected the rights of Muslim protestors in Luton yesterday when British people went to cheer the return of British troops to Britain safely, and THEY decided to heckle the troops and call them murderers, they forget the Co-allition troops went in to depose a despot who was killing more Muslims than we have since Desert Storm 1,just for being the wrong TYPE of Muslim, a bit like me gaining power and forming an Army to kill off some Christian sect because they do not conform to MY ideals,Ian don't mention Cromwell et al;,oh yes, and because we are in Afghanistan hunting comrades of the murdering bunch who financed and flew planes into the twin towers,as well as trying to cut off heroin supplies (and Taliban funding). Maybe if their Muslim brothers were a little more tolerant and peace loving ,as the Koran says they should be, the war wouldn't be going on.
Of course we should remember the 2 soldiers and also the one Constable of the NI Police Sevice, and wish the injured a speedy recovery, my heart goes out to all the family ,friends and loved ones.Let us just hope this is not the beginning of another period of unrest in the province that wil lead to atrocities seen there and mainland UK,amongst other places.
