looking for argument where there is none Ian ? our views ARE different, yours go further than mine.
However, back to my original point:
I disagreed with your "risk assessment":
"My fear of the Far Right is MUCH stronger than my fear of ONE religious group of nutters"
and stated why I think you've got it the wrong way round.
"I stand opposed to ALL those who would harm the British people and my experience tells me that the CHOSEN Religion is no MORE critical to their stupid views than their SHOE sizes! All religions breed NUTTERS! I therefore do not NEED to single-out ONE religion from the others! You seem to want to"
I do not wish to single out any one group, there are many dangers us from many quarters, it is however, my belief that whilst the muslim threat Is currently low, the only way it will stay that way is if nutty views (from the complete spectrum) are challenged frankly and robustly and not ignored/treated with kid gloves because they're "religious" views and therefore immune to scrutiny. Especially if their follows threaten violence to anyone who dare challenge them.
Just to avoid, confusion I am saying that at the moment barmy Islamic views are getting an easier ride than they should and are not being treated robustly. That is my view of why we're on a slippery slope and why we should be standing and saying we consider those views to be wrong and offensive to us and if you wish to live by those views go and live somewhere else.
you, however, have advocated something far more drastic: IMPOSING what you believe to be "right" on others, sounds the same as any other religious nutter to me.
"Some people ask why should we impose our views on others. That's just too easy: ..... because our view is right! How can I prove it? Because we can show that our culture (basic European/Western/Christian/Judiac views) have advanced our people the furthest and the fastest. 'Our' (the European/USA/Aussie/Nippon) culture has worked in improving the 'lot' of the 'common man' whereas the others (Arabic/African/USSR/Cuban/Albanian/etc.) cultures have been abject failures"
Sound familiar Ian?
That goes far beyond anything I'm saying (why should we IMPOSE our views etc)
