Yeah, I think it depends what you want to use it for. For me, a netbook is to take with me where I go, cut and paste emails, some surfing etc, bit of laptop use in front of TV etc, hardly cutting edge stuff. I have a desktop to deal with all my major applications.

I don`t think a netbook could replace a desktop, it is simply a useful (portable) extention. I am absolutely sure the macbook is far and away more advanced, but for me, the need would not justify the price.
