carried the thread on because it gives a interesting snapshot on the current uk
two stories i loved this week.
the headmaster who saw the weather forcast and went to his school on sunday nite, cleared the paths early monday morning and then got hit with more snow, far as i know he is still there.....did say he had coffee and whisky to last 2 weeks but school is open
and the head mistress who opened her school then had a pupil strike in 1st break, the other schools were closed in the area and they thought they should be, she stood firm, any pupil not returning to lessons got a mark on their record
and spent the afternoon with my nan, 89 this year, lost my granddad early in the war and her brother on hms hood but still spent the whole war working in the ammo factory in the heart of london, 6 months gone with my uncle and walked the 4 miles into work in snow above her knees, why she needed the money and the country needed her........the walk back took 5 hours....did admit she had a few jars of the black stuff, as the doctor of the time ordered
how this fits into give up Britain i dont know but makes me proud
