Well the first place our priorities differ is here :

The actuality of which is interfering in situations unrelated to the defence of our country WHERE IT INTERESTS us ! The role of our military should be defence ONLY and nothing else.
We should NEVER put the lives of our military personnel in harm's way for anything less than the defence of our nations. Never !

As for the other stuff... there is no point in isolating individual government undertakings as all the above are important... as are many more. However its how you go about each of these and to what extent PUBLIC funds need to be allocated to them.

Note, there's also the issue of the way in which government attempts to achieve any given mission... which more often than not is laden down with extraordinary waste. You only need to recall the shambolic NHS 'IT project' of a few years ago which conveniently slipped under the radar to realize how gargantuan amounts of money can be squandered without accountablity.
