I have no proof that we will survive.... any more than YOU have proof of that, either! I an still rather opposed to loing a few THOUSAND humans through our 'polution', Why....? You MAY be ONE of them!

However, your next idea is even sillier! Waiting until we DO run-out is BONKERS!

Why?

1) we do NOT need to run OUT before we have SERIOUS problems! The Oil Procuing Countries (shorthand= "Saudi") are still producing MORE oil than we can use. That time is due VERY soon. Once we want to buy MORE oil than they can produce....the price will go through the ROOF! Now that oil proices have dropped for a VERY temporrary period, the pressure is OFF producing better 'engines'. We should therefore be RAISING the preice of fuel throughout the WORLD (or at least: in the UK) so that there WILL be pressure on us to produce an alternative! Regardless of WHAT the reason is... we need to REDUCE our dependence on OIL!

2) It's a bit like saying: "I'll wait until I SEE the crash coming BEFORE I put on my helmet"! That's just TOO late! We need to put our 'helmets' on NOW and start working on the alternatives.

The time to prepare for a problem is BEFORE you hit it!
