Worse than that!

The 'reaction' of a gyroscope is to 'translate' the 'turning' energy (trying to change it's 'direction') though NINETY DEGREES! So, mounted wrongly, a turn to the (e.g.) LEFT might force it DOWN onto the track while a turn to the RIGHT might LIFT the car! A 'tank-slapper' moment could be ASTOUNDING to control!

Gyrosocpe facinate us so much BECAUSE they SEEM to react SO strangely. What else do we know that is able to deflect the force we apply to it by 90 degrees WITHOUT the use of leverage?
