Even with the 'flywheel', the energy stored in that thing is SCAREY! How the HELL do you disipate that energy in an accident just after braking?
The projection from the technical web site states that the McLaren stores 400 KiloJoules which is equivalent to 80bhp for 6.7 seconds. That is a HELL of a lot of stored energy! Bl**dy HELL, it's more like a BOMB!
Looking at it in 'our' terms, that's ALL the energy of a 250cc kart on FULL bore down Kimbolton's longest straight, I suppose that's the equivalent of a 100cc kart travelling at around 100mph! How they HELL do you release THAT sort of POWER safely???
