Its a sad day alright. I have always had a huge amount of respect for Ron and what he's achieved. Throughout he's been an amazing leader, a demanding manager and a person of great principle. He's be in/around F1 and F2 for more than 4 decades.

Nothing lasts forever and I guess the personal distress he's suffered in the last 12 months has focused him to reprioritize. I've a gut feeling he'll miss the adrenhilin rush and will be back. Though I thought that too of Eddie Jordan and he didn't return.
